Modernising ATM as One Team - Ideal Flight
The panel debate on decarbonisation in aviation “Making net zero possible”. Following an introductory speech, during which Salvatore Sciacchitano provided ICAO perspectives on sustainability, Henrik Hololei addressed the EU initiatives with reference to the Fit for 55 package and his views about a sustainable aviation. Raul Medina Caballero, Director General Eurocontrol, opened the panel discussion joined by SESAR Deployment Manager Executive Director Mariagrazia La Piscopia, SESAR Joint Undertaking Executive Director Andreas Boschen and Eurocontrol Director Network Management Iacopo Prissinotti. SDM Executive Director Mariagrazia La Piscopia pointed out “Close coordination between all actors, buy-in of all stakeholders and continuing to work As One team closing the SESAR modernisation & digitalisation loop in ATM is crucial to guarantee sustainability."

The panel debate on future air-ground connectivity in aviation addressed the important question how to avoid a predicted crunch and make aviation fit for the digital future. Christine Berg, Head of Single European Sky Unit, DG MOVE, European Commission, led the discussion and the exchange of views on the strategic aspects to be considered when rolling out the future connectivity infrastructure. SESAR Deployment Manager was represented by Executive Director Mariagrazia La Piscopia, together with representatives from Eurocontrol Network Manager, SESAR Joint Undertaking, EASA, EDA, EUROCAE and airline representatives.

SESAR Deployment Manager - Inmarsat signed a Memorandum of Understanding
Great to renovate – through this signing – the very good collaboration between SESAR Deployment Manager and the industry, with a critical player like Inmarsat.
Our fruitful cooperation has been in place for years but today we are proud to give it a new framework by signing a formal agreement. The next months and years will be extremely important to define the future of Air/Ground connectivity and the transition to Trajectory Based Operations and we believe Inmarsat will help us in defining the most realistic and ambitious roadmap to achieve this common goal.

SESAR 2020 Showcase & Walking Tour
Optimised ATM Network Services were showcased by SDM Monitoring and Execution Coordinator Ramon Raposo at the SESAR 2020 Showcase, followed by a SESAR Walking Tour to the deployment partners DSNA and Skeyes who presented their related deployment projects.
