Communication, Navigation & Surveillance (CNS) Workshop
On the 28th of April 2022, the second CNS workshop will be held in a virtual setting from 14:00 to 17:00 CET (timing is to be confirmed) by the CNS Advisory Group, which SDM is a part of.
Following the CNS (Communication Navigation and Surveillance) workshop held on 7 May 2021, the CNS Advisory Group composed of experts (from DG MOVE, EASA, EUROCONTROL, SESAR Joint Undertaking, SESAR Deployment Manager, European Defence Agency and EUROCAE) was enlarged with representatives from stakeholders (from CANSO, IATA/EBAA representing airspace users, ACI, chair team of the Expert Group of the Human Dimension of SES, and chair team of Industry Consultation Body).
The expanded group has been working to update the draft CNS report and to prepare a preliminary CNS action plan considering feedback received from the first workshop held in May 2021, and the outcome of consultation with stakeholders held in late 2021. The implementation of the proposed recommendations through the preliminary CNS action plan will eventually require the collective effort and common view of a large range of civil and military stakeholders and European organisations. It is essential that experts from stakeholder groups are consulted on the findings of the Group.
