Is the capacity study predicated on multiple VDLm2 frequencies being provided from the same geographical location? Does the Radio Ground Station design for both Architecture One and Two, facilitate multiple VDLm2 frequencies from the same location ?

“As of today no, due to the very close channel allocation (only 25kHz space between DLS channels).
Ground Station Designers will have to consider requirements to avoid interference among VHF Voice and Data Stations installed at a location (i.e. an Airport). The limitations derived from physics must be respected for both VDL-architectures and will limit the number of frequencies operated at a single VGS. Operating more VDL Frequencies will therefore require additional VGS sites. This is the same for both architectures.”
