SWIM MET Service definitions are published in the SWIM registry
AF5 SWIM (System Wide Information Management) is one of the key functionalities of CP1, enabling all stakeholders to acquire data needed for operations at any time, via defined interfaces and agreed formats that can be interactively provided, consumed and used by automated systems.
Meteorological data is a part of AF5, providing SWIM-services for airport observations (METAR/SPECI), airport forecasts (TAF), and en-route significant weather (SIGMET). The Meteorological SWIM Services Sub-Group (MET3SG) established by NM and SDM, consisting of operational stakeholders like met providers, ANSPs, Airports, NM and the industry, has recently developed service definitions which will support all MET providers to develop their own national MET SWIM services ensuring interoperability. These service definitions are now available for all within the SWIM Registry.
The publication of these service definitions marks an important milestone in the implementation of Meteorological SWIM Services as part of CP1, paving the way for the continued development and integration of meteorological data into the broader ATM network.
