Modernising Air Traffic Management As One - News and Views from SESAR Deployment Manager - edition 4
Dear Readers,
As we approach the close of 2024, let us take a moment to reflect on some milestones for SESAR Deployment Manager of this last quarter.
On December 4th, we welcomed over 200 guests to our stakeholder event, "A Decade of Transformation: Modernising European Air Traffic Management As One." This event brought together experts and leaders across the aviation community for thought-provoking panel discussions, compelling keynote speeches, and inspiring deployment testimonials. Together, we celebrated the journey of SESAR deployment—from its roots to its present successes and future aspirations.
Another defining achievement was the allocation of €140 million in EU funding under the CEF 2 Transport Call 2023. This funding will power two pivotal projects, CLEAN ATM 2 and GREEN CNS, marking a critical step forward in accelerating the modernization and decarbonization of aviation across Europe. This is part of a continuing journey, as currently, the SESAR Deployment Manager team is closely working with its partners to ensure the timely submission under CEF2 Call 2024 of other massively important projects for European ATM modernization through SESAR deployment.
Beyond the headlines, 2024 was filled with countless moments of collaboration and progress. From engaging webinars, on-site visits, and training sessions to vibrant events—both large and small—we reconnected with our Members and Implementing Partners, reaffirming our shared commitment to transform European ATM. New partnerships were forged, existing agreements renewed, and a wide array of projects carefully monitored, coordinated, and synchronized.
With pride, we can now report that 300 of 356 projects have been successfully completed, and 85% of those mandated by the Common Project 1 Regulation are either finished or nearing completion. These accomplishments are a testament to the tireless dedication of our entire SESAR deployment community.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our Members and Implementing Partners for their unwavering commitment to working together to modernize European air traffic management as one team.
