Application “SESAR Deployment Programme implementation – 2017″ successfully submitted

The Application “SESAR Deployment Programme implementation – 2017” has been successfully submitted in response to the 2017 CEF Transport call for proposals on 5 April 2018, before the INEA deadline set on 12th of April.

The Application integrates a total of 55 PCP related implementation projects (60 IPs when split with multiple co-funding rates) for a potential total investment of € 592,451,563 (€ 274,618,011.80 of CEF funding) and the involvement of 59 applicants under the coordination of SDM.

Behind this proposal, 59 Applicants under the coordination of SDM,  from 25 States (23 EU Member States and 2 Third Countries), including civil Air Navigation Service Providers, Airspace Users, Airports Operators, Meteorological Service Providers, the Network Manager, the Military and the Manufacturing Industry stand ready to invest in modernising Europe’s Air Traffic Management system deploying SESAR technologies and operational procedures and thus contributing to achieve the Single European Sky performance objectives.

This proposal is coming on top to the ones already submitted to the 2014, 2015 and 2016 CEF Transport calls for proposals:

  • The 2014 CEF Transport call resulted, in November 2015, into the signature of the first Specific Grant Agreement between the SDM and the European Commission, launching a first batch of 87 Implementation Projects for a total investment of €644M by 46 partners.
  • For the 2015 CEF Transport call, three Specific Grant Agreements, gathering 137 Implementation Projects and 87 partners for a total investment of €1,177M, were signed in November 2016 between the SDM and the European Commission.
  • For the 2016 CEF Transport call, two Specific Grant Agreements, gathering 75 Implementation Projects and 63 partners for a total investment of €644M, were signed in November 2017.
  • In addition, 1 Implementation Project has been awarded through the 2017 CEF Transport Blending Call and it’s currently under the SGA finalization.

With this new submission, SDM brings another evidence that SESAR deployment is contributing to the implementation of the SES initiative and the associated high level goals.
