SDM programme DAY TWO - 14 May
11:00 - 11:25: Military in SES
Description:
The military are in a unique position as they execute all the main functions of the ATM domain (e.g., airlines, ANSPs, airport operators, MET and data providers and SWIM operators), therefore SES framework is a key element which is considered in their operations. In its intervention EDA will present how the military see SES and how their operations are executed in consideration of the SES regulatory framework.
Speakers
Christophe Vivier, Head of Single European Sky Unit, EDA Europe
Heiko Teper, Head of Strategy and Technical Execution, SESAR Deployment Manager
Robert Campbell Smith, ERA
Location
Wing Theatre
11:30 - 11:55: A technical deep dive into two key enablers on the CP1 path to Trajectory Based Operations (TBO): SWIM / Initial Trajectory Information sharing
Description
SWIM (System Wide Information Management) is the enabler for digitalised seamless information access and exchange between all ground providers and users of ATM information. CP1 implementation of a SWIM infrastructure and services concern some existing ATM information exchanges but also enhanced ones (e.g. FF-ICE / R1) in the perspective of TBO.
Initial Trajectory Information sharing concern the establishement of ADS-C contracts between the ground and the air for the downlinking of EPP (Extended Projected Profile) information and use / distribution of that information by the ground ATM Systems.
Discover how real-time, standardised information exchange enhances operational efficiency, predictability, and decision-making across European airspace. Learn how the SESAR Deployment Manager is ensuring a coordinated, Europe-wide rollout, enabling seamless connectivity between all aviation stakeholders.
Don’t miss this chance to explore how cutting-edge data-sharing is shaping air traffic management!
Speakers
Franck Montoya – Implementation Programmes Coordinator, SESAR Deployment Manager
Magnus Molbaek, SWIM Expert, SESAR Deployment Manager
Location
Frequentis Theatre
14:00 - 14:15: Concepts for improved vertical flight efficiency with enhancement by 4D trajectory sharing
Description:
Lufthansa Group is working with various air navigation service providers to optimize arrival procedures, enabling fuel savings through aircraft-specific descent profiles.
To simplify and accelerate the implementation of these benefits, ADS-C EPP is being equipped within the Lufthansa Group as part of Common Project 1 and going beyond the mandate. The technology provides more precise flight information, improving planning for ATCOs and contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions. Various use cases and a flightpath visualization tool demonstrate the potential for further efficiency gains.
